Kamali has been a weaver with Jaipur Rugs family from last 8 years. She is a mother to 3 boys who are now attending school, a wife of a mason and a caretaker of 3 goats. When she is not weaving, Kamali likes to attend Satsang (spiritual preaching sessions), where she also offers to help through cutting grass. Guldasta is first of her self-designed rugs where she has used dark colours like red and green, which are her favorite. She is confident to make many more.
Kamali is a very creative and observant weaver. Taking inspiration from date trees that she saw in a nearby village called Sahapura, she was excited to weave that pattern on her rug. Not only does Kamali find her design inspiration in date trees, she also likes to chew on dates while weaving, as it is not very often that she gets to eat them. On her rug, she chooses to draw many of her favorite flowers, especially the dog flower, which she has also seen in other rug designs. Therefore, she calls the rug Guldasta, a Hindi word for a ‘bouquet’. She chose this name as she has spread so many flowers on her rug .

To the owner of this rug
“This rug will fill your house and life with freshness and colours.”
