This rug has been woven by Mobin, Gaffar and Neeraj, together. Mobin and Gaffar live with their families in the village Hardoi. Both of them have been weaving rugs together since the last 10 years. Neeraj is a resident of the village Lakhimpur Khiri and has been weaving since the last 7 years after his elder brother taught him how to weave.
GramTo weave this rug, the weavers visualized what the village playground looks like in the early mornings. The Tulsi plant is considered to be sacred as per the Indian mythology; hence they weaved a Tulsi plant in the center of the rug to signify the village's ancient ritual which involves worshipping it in the morning. The local village temple is painted in the bright colors of orange and yellow and they weaved the same in the left part of the rug. The design of this rug captures the native culture which is alive in the rural parts of India.
