Sunita is 40 years old and has been weaving art from past 20 years. She is a mother of two boys and one girl and all three of them are bright students. She takes pride in saying, “Their friends keep calling them to discuss studies, and they are the gurus of all of them.” Very chirpy and young at heart, Sunita won’t stop talking unless you do!
BandarwalThe design of this rug is a take on the traditional fringe or bandarwal that our weaver, Sunita admires. In her village almost every house has this traditional fringe that is hung on the house’s entryway. This fringe or bandarwal is considered to be very auspicious and is said to bring in positivity, luck and happiness. It is made up of glass, cloth, sea shells and little flowers, all tied together in rhombus shaped pattern. The rug too reflects the same pattern and design.
